Lexington, Va. – On Thursday, March 5, Up to Par Management announced a contract extension with the historic Robert E. Lee Hotel in downtown Lexington, Va. With this extension, Up to Par will continue to oversee marketing, food and beverage, hotel operations and special events. Up to Par established its relationship with the hotel in 2014 following the start of an expansive historic renovation. Up to Par managed the preservation and renovation of the six-story building, which was built in 1926 and features 39 guest rooms, a dining room and bar, an outdoor terrace overlooking the heart of downtown Lexington, a banquet room and several smaller meeting spaces.
“We’re thrilled to continue our agreement with the Robert E. Lee Hotel,” said Sean Taylor, chief executive officer of Up to Par Management. “We greatly enjoyed managing the renovations to this historic property. Our goal was to create a seamless blend of historic charm and modern influence. Based on our experiences in the space, and the reviews of our guests, we feel confident we achieved our goal. With Up to Par’s continued oversight, we are certain this historic gem will be revived to its former glory as a cornerstone of the Lexington cityscape.”
Conveniently located in the heart of downtown, the hotel is walking distance from Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute, and is less than five miles from the Virginia Horse Center. The hotel also features a variety of unique offerings including date night and golf packages, and a New Year’s Eve bash complete with a Times Square-inspired ball that descends on top of the hotel.
“My experience with Up to Par has been wonderful and I am looking forward to a bright future together,” said Ugo Benincasa, owner of the Robert E. Lee Hotel. “The hotel is full of satisfied guests and nothing could make me happier.”
